This collection includes the first edition of STALL Magazine, which explores the history and future of the space industry, alongside a curation of fine art and photography capturing various perspectives of space exploration.

About our Speakers

Charlie Duke

Former American Astronaut

Charles Moss Duke Jr. is a former American astronaut and United States Air Force officer known for his role as the Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 16 in 1972, making him the 10th and youngest person to walk on the Moon at the time, accomplishing this feat at the age of 36. Duke graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1957 and later joined the USAF, excelling in flight training and serving as a fighter pilot in West Germany. He became an instructor after completing advanced training and eventually joined NASA's fifth astronaut group in 1966.

Duke played various roles in NASA missions, including serving as CAPCOM for Apollo 11 and backup lunar module pilot for Apollo 13. He was reassigned as the lunar module pilot for Apollo 16, during which he and John Young conducted three extravehicular activities on the Moon. Duke retired from NASA in 1976 and continued his service in the Air Force Reserve, eventually retiring as a brigadier general in 1986. Throughout his career, Duke accumulated over 4,000 hours of flying time, including over 21 hours of extravehicular activity in space.

After calling Texas home for over 56 years, he and his wife, Dorothy, relocated to Greenville, South Carolina in 2023 to be closer to family. He has two sons, 9 grand-children, and 1 great-grandchild. He continues to travel, speak about his experiences, continue his work with Duke Ministries, and even participate in Zero-G Flights.

Caroline Schumacher

President & CEO of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation

A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Astronaut Scholarship Foundation President and CEO Caroline Schumacher maintains absolute devotion to supporting the best and brightest Astronaut Scholars. She has earned decades of experience working with non-profit organizations, fostering this passion by serving just shy of 20 years in volunteer management, fundraising, guest services and operations for a children's charity and wish-fulfilling organization prior to joining the ASF team. Throughout her career, Caroline has perfected a mission-driven leadership style and strives to uphold a first-class hospitality mindset in maintaining her professional relationships. Outside of the workplace, she’s a mother of seven... three children and four dogs!

Nikolina Kovalenko, an artist based in Brooklyn, NY, explores humanity's psychological connection with nature and the environmental consequences of everyday actions through her delicate ecosystem-inspired artwork. With an MFA from Moscow Surikov Art Institute and accolades including a Gold Medal from the Russian Art Academy, Kovalenko's international exhibition history spans prestigious venues such as MOMMA and The Russian Museum. Her work extends beyond galleries to environmental projects worldwide, collaborating with organizations like the Coral Reef Alliance and UNESCO to promote conservation efforts. John Angerson

John Angerson, born in Bristol, England in 1969, embarked on his photography career in the early 1990s, capturing pivotal moments such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the evolving Eastern European landscape. Renowned for his documentary photography, Angerson delves into the intricate dynamics of communities over time. His projects, including the acclaimed monographs "Love, Power, Sacrifice" and "English Journey," have been exhibited globally and offer nuanced perspectives on religion, society, and globalization. Angerson's accolades span decades, from winning awards like Ilford Young Photographer of the Year to receiving the Best Photography Award at the Lishui Photography Festival in China in 2023. Based in London, he balances personal projects, teaching commitments at various universities, and commissioned work for prestigious publications and organizations worldwide, showcasing his versatility and depth as a photographer.

Sterling Crawford

American, Living and Working in Greenville, South Carolina

Sterling Crawford, an artist and founder of Stall Three Studio, transitioned from a career in accounting to pursue her passion for painting in 2023. Starting her art career with commissioned dog portraits, she later recognized the potential to merge her artistic talents with her business background, leading to the creation of Stall Three Studio. Through this platform, Sterling aims to raise awareness for current events and cultural topics through art and journalism. Her belief in art's ability to unite people and broaden perspectives drives Stall Three Studio's multifaceted endeavors. Today, Sterling splits her time between Greenville, South Carolina, and her family's farm, where her studio, named after the farm's third horse stall, is located.

Inspired by her grandfather, Apollo astronaut Charlie Duke, Sterling's passion for space exploration led to the creation of her first magazine issue on the topic.
